Myofascial Release Provides Pain Relief

Dr. Marone has recently added a new technique that has helped many of his patients significantly. It is called Myofascial Release. This is a non-invasive, hands-on therapy which reduces pain by easing tension in trigger points. The treatment simply feels like a pressure, ranging from lighter to deeper. Myofascial Release helps with many issues: headaches, myofascial pain syndrome, neck or back pain, sciatica, shoulder injuries, arthritic conditions, or sports injuries, to name a few.

How Does Myofascial Release Work?

Myofascial Release focuses on the fascia, which is a tough but adaptable tissue that runs throughout our bodies. It surrounds muscles, nerves, bones, etc. and holds everything inside together. If you can picture your bones and muscles as the web of a spider and the space between the strands of the web as being fascia (rather than air), that gives a pretty good picture of how fascia connects everything.

When we experience trauma of any type, the fascia tightens. Because the fascia has multiple connections, an injury in one area can have a ripple effect on many other areas. For example, a person may experience knee pain, but it has nothing to do with his knee; the actual injury may be in the patient’s back. Because of this, a practitioner may perform Myofascial Release on a patient in many areas of the body—not just the injured area–in order to reach all of the fascia that has become involved.

Holy Basil: The Well-Rounded Well-Being Herb

Holy basil is a diverse herb that has been used to treat a wide variety of countless conditions for thousands of years. Also known as Ocimum sanctum or Tulsi, this miracle herb was predominantly used in India and other parts of Southeast Asia. Well known for its ability to help bodies cope with stress, it is the perfect antidote with holistic healing powers.

Holy Basil Suppresses Distress

Stress, anxiety, and depression affect millions of Americans with sometimes crippling consequences. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America reveals that 15 million people suffer from depression and 40 million from anxiety. To treat symptoms, most turn to prescription drugs. However, Mother Nature can also provide relief in a natural way. Holy Basil is a safer alternative method for anyone suffering from these symptoms and more. Anxiety, stress, and depression dampen a person’s mood, but if individuals suffer chronically, symptoms could develop into physical health problems. Symptoms management is an absolute must to preserve mental and physical health.

With no cure for cancer on the horizon, it is up to us to find other ways to reduce the spread of cancer cells. Integration of holy basil into a daily diet could help and preserve life a little longer.

Along with the other problems mentioned, it has also treated infections. It is an anti-septic, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral. Benefits don’t stop there either. It has improved inflammation, lowered blood sugar, healed scars, helped with hypertension, cholesterol, andinsulin issues, and reduced stomach acid in the body. For these reasons, holy basil has wholeheartedly earned the label “well-rounded.”

The seeds or leaves have been used in cooking, including pesto sauces, or used as a tea. It is high in vitamin C, chlorophyll, calcium, zinc, and iron. Tastes differ to regular basil. It’s been described as being bitter, spicy or pungent, which may make it hard to swallow. To avoid unfavorable flavor, supplements are a great alternative.

Herbalists have been relying on herbs to heal conditions for centuries. Though it may not work for everyone, modern medicine could benefit from some herbal ancient wisdom. Earthly herbs potentially have fewer side effects and have been put to the test for thousands of years. Holy basil’s well-rounded ability to heal a wide range of conditions makes it a good choice for overall well-being.
